Welcome to the archives!
Because Free Citizen is so young, and subject to so much change in the future, I thought it would be wise to add a section where everything can go when it gets changed, replaced, or scrapped entirely. Here, you’ll find old drafts, page designs, and maybe even ideas that I decided not to go with.
I’m one of those people who is super interested in what UI’s used to look like in older versions of anything—websites, video games, computer menus, etc. This is my way of preserving the history of this website! Hopefully in a few years, there will be lots to look back on here. For now, there won’t be much.
First landing page design
Not much to say about this… Looking back on it, it feels pretty sloppy, uncreative, and incohesive.
I didn’t always have the idea to design this site with a monochrome color palette. I was gonna color each art piece (with dithering) however I pleased. I threw this menu together a while ago… like, almost a year ago. I can’t quite remember if I was particularly proud of it or if I shrugged my shoulders and said It’ll do. I do remember that I was struggling really hard to come up with a good background. I didn’t want it to be straight white, but I couldn’t think of anything that would fit with such a varied color palette.
